MMMM they didn't turn out like I had hoped.

I thought I would have a go at making some rainbow style biscuits that I found on pinterest  They are so beautiful, exquisite actually, so pretty, & every child's delight!! I read the instructions & I assumed...RIGHT....I can master these babies. I wanted to make them for an adorable little girl I know, for her birthday....little Miss Allie. I followed the instructions word for word....so here it goes....

I couldn't find the neon food colouring as suggested, so I had to use what I already owned.  No big deal as the birthday party was themed Minnie Mouse, so I had to have red...right? Here are my colours. All the batter divided evenly & coloured accordingly.

As instructed, I rolled the batter into balls. Those balls had to them be rolled into rainbow sausages. Done!

Each rainbow sausage was then rolled in sprinkles, as instructed again. They were then cut into inch thick little stumps. I was so excited at this point, thinking YEAH!!!!!!! I have mastered these. My colours were bright. Each batch of brightly coloured batter look marled, & was blending into the next almost perfectly. I was truly loving it. Into the oven they went.

Oh no what happened...bom bom.....Mine went flat, literally flat....the sprinkles melted into the biscuit, & my colours look like they blended into one another. I was so disappointed.

It had got me wondering if these biscuits are real? they probably are no doubt, & just feeling bummed out as mine didn't turn out like this. To be honest these rainbow delights look like they can straight out of the sundae machine at McDonald's! Even the sprinkles are perfectly placed MMMMM??

Oh well, I have had a go, & as disappointing as it was, they were still a hit on the day & I did receive compliments on how they looked. Obviously these lovely people have never seen the originals haha!! They tasted great also, which is clearly very important.

I would love to hear from anyone who has made these, & how did you go? I am going to have a go at them again, as my kids birthday's are next month. Let see if I can perfect them then?

My world...Your journey...

Created from love love of travel, and desire to see more of the world.
I haven't been anywhere overseas since having my 2 beautiful kids boohoo......But that's OK the positive is that when I go again they will be with me! I look forward to showing them different cultures, like I have seen, & I hope they have a real appreciation for what an amazing country Australia is. I also hope they have a curiosity to go and travel themselves....but not for too long & away from me!! Ha Ha!!

Hence my new cushion design, "my world...my journey". specifically for the ambitious, wanting to see the world and creating their own journey.

 Large size cushion 40x30cm

Need something for the wall & slightly more personalised?
Large print 40x30cm

If it needs to be girly, that's been covered. This colour combination can also be created in the cushion.

Happy travels!!

YIKES...I have had a crazy month

I can not believe it has been nearly a month since I have blogged.
It's terrible actually.
I knew it had been a while, & I always think about how I have not posted anything, but sometimes life gets in the way. When I am incredible busy, my poor old blog seems to suffer. Priorities come into place, & the most important tasks must be completed first.

OK I am not going to go on about why I have been literally "Missing in Action", but my business journey has been a tremendously positive one & I had to get some things organised.

I know you all know that I have another business, Quirky and Quaint.
For those who don't, it's a party plan business where I sell predominantly children's homewears & accessories, sprinkled in with some lovely items for mum.

Fortunately I have had 3 lovely gorgeous girls join the business to sell the brand. These lovely girls have literally turned my world upside down. I have had to work in such a new way. All of a sudden, I have girls to organise & support, make sure their job is as smooth running as possible, as well as paying them for their extraordinary efforts. It has been quite challenging to say the least, yet so exciting. I have had to hire some ladies to help me restructure the business, & mentor me along the way. They have been such huge resources, & brilliant at what they do. They have a lot more experience than I do in the direct sales business (35 years), hence why their knowledge & wisdom I am so blown away with.

During this last month I have had to have agreements & manuals created, new brands included into the business, researching trade marks, as well as creating my very own catalogue. Just getting that organised for printer has been crazy, learning what graphic artists & printers need has been stress in itself.

Doing all this around the kids has been quite impossible, & I have finally popped them into occasional care one day a week. Having 5hrs alone is amazing & I get all the hard stuff done, well the jobs that need full concentration.

I am getting on top of it, & finally breathing. I haven't created a new design for my Tiges brand which is killing me & I miss it, but I know its time to get back to that....And of course my blog.

I am just so happy that I have finally blogged about something today.
A small & simple pleasure.
