A new sketch......

It's been a little challenging the last couple of weeks, with a new baby and getting into the desperately sought after routine, all parents crave.
However I have been able to find a half hour here and there to do some much needed sketching of ideas for some new projects on the go. Those middle of the night feeds have catapulted a crazy flood of ideas and inspiration. This is really exiting for me, as I really needed it. It has actually become a fabulously quiet time to just let the mind wander. Even if my eyes are closed.
I have finished a few new drawings to be developed into initial collages, and look forward to showing them to you. Below is a new sketch of a turtle, a girlie turtle that is, and some potential colour ideas. I am still not sure what to do with her shell yet, to be plain would be a little boring.
The other challenge is to now find the right fabric and papers to use to create the first original collage. Well back to it, I hope inspiration is finding you somewhere too.

Big Marshmallow Cheeks

I popped Charlotte in the shower on Sunday as she was due for a bath, I was running behind, and couldn't be bothered pulling out the baby bath.
I gave her to hubby and he took over. I was a little worried she wouldn't be too happy, but it was the complete opposite. Like a duck to water, not an ounce of fear in her face, her big blue eyes wide open, not a squirm, or an upset gurgle. She looked on with curiosity the whole time, and fluttered her eyes with the sprays of the water, she definitely was having a ball.
I just had to take this gorgeous photo.

Oh, did I mention my baby doll has the biggest cheeks, like big plump marshmallows,
topped with a dimple?

2nd Point and Shoot

Here is my 2nd point and shoot.

I decided to take a photo of something that means a lot to me.
I look at them everyday, with a smile, filled with many memories. They are a reminder of a very special day that happened just over 10yrs ago, on the 18th March 2000.
My wedding day.......
They are on a feature wall in the main living space of my house. A collection showing my favourite images of that very special day.

I was featured on Calico and Co....

Recently I was interviewed by Amanda from the fabulous blog Calico and Co.

It was posted today and I am absolutely thrilled with it.

Thanks Amanda

My First Point & Shoot

OK I have been reading the Fat Mum Slim's blog for a while now & always love to see what she (Chantelle) has photographed. She has a great eye for making something ordinary look beautiful, she always has something great to write.
My closest girlfriend Belinda from Got Something Better To Do participates religiously every week in point & shoot. Belinda as long as I have known her has a great eye & the ability to turn something ordinary into something beautiful or very comical. She is also a hoot to read, always has something fun to say, if you need a laugh or a little bit of honesty head over to her blog.

I have been wanting to play for a while but have stage fright as being great with a camera or the pressure of finding something interesting to shoot is intimidating...Thanks god I have two gorgeous kids to use as subjects!! The time has come to have a go & see where it takes me.
OK............So my very first point & shoot is of Hudson, who at the time was actually pointing & shooting me. Of late he has taken quite an interest in taking photos & I love watching the expression on his precious face everytime he takes a photo of me, as in his eyes I magically I appear in the screen behind the camera. It such a wonderful thing to watch his face light up.

Charlotte 3 weeks

OK I can't help myself, I have to post a photo of Charlotte.
Here she is at 3 weeks old and growing.

Her beautiful little face changes daily, and I just love getting to know her more and more each day. So far, she has a more placid and gentle nature that Hudson. My handsome little man is a pocket rocket 24/7, built with determination and a bold personality!
I am enjoying every minute of Charlotte, I think it may have something to do with being a more confident mum second time round. I know also it has a lot to do with the fact that I am not going to have any more babies, so I want to enjoy every little smile, burp, smirk, gaze as much as I can, as before I know it she will be all grown up.
Well I hope not too fast, but you get my drift......

Personalised Tee From Paris

I received the most beautiful tee the other day as a present from my friend Katrina.
A personalised tee, designed especially for Charlotte, with a favourite image of mine.

The Eiffel Tower...I have a love for anything Paris, as it's one of my favourite cities in the world.
It's just perfect, soft pink with a hint of mint.

Katrina has her own personalised children's business called Idtee where there are some fabulous designs for tees, library bags, aprons and more. She really has a one stop shop when searching for a children's gift.
