Happy Valentine's Day

I am not going to pretend I am a huge celebrator of Valentine's Day, some times it can look a little cheesy to me. I am also grateful I'm seeing less & less stuffed animals, & instead absolutely beautiful heart felt creations on pinterest. If it's you & your partners thing, you could certainly go to the love town & make it a romantic celebration, & such a pretty one too.

After my shower this morning I walked into the kitchen to find these on my kitchen bench. Ahhhhhh yes I know how sweet. I definitely wasn't expecting it, as we don't typically celebrate Valentines. However I am not going to say no to flowers. I am not sure if they are cool or not anymore, but I have always loved Gerbera's. They are my happy flower, so bright & cherry. He knows that which I love.

Love isn't just for the grown ups on Valentines day, it can be for the kids too.
I know that I would be so completely chuffed if my kids made something just for the simple fact  to tell me they loved me. I have to admit I am not going to hope something like this will be ready & waiting for me February 14th, my husband isn't that organised to make it happen.

However the thought of it melts me heart.

It's been a quick start to year, putting together a small collection for Valentines day.
It was a perfect way to start my year, the range was not too demanding size wise, & eased me back into working. It's been great having a break but time to get back to my 'normal life'.

You will find the whole collection in my brand new Celebrations section of my shop. A whole area that is dedicated to celebrating special events in your life from Christenings to Weddings. It's still in it's infinite stages, but there with more designs coming.

Love is in the air

The year is travelling so quickly already. I have siting down doing the planning on my large desktop calendar as mentioned here on my last post. Which I might add quickly is brilliant!

I have also been doing some sketching, joyfully working on some new ideas, and I am also not sure if you realised it' just over a month to Valentines day. I love creating drawings for special events to celebrate. After much thinking I got my pencil out & got started.

This is the beginnings of what I will be working on. They are only scanned pen drawings, which I will then redraw in illustrator & work some colour magic into. At times I do this & what I start with can potentially look completely different when they are complete.

New idea Love Bird. I am dying to get in the and colour her up. Some lovely pattern fills in, exploding in reds and pinks. Not sure what else yet, you will have to wait and see.
