I thought I would have a go at making some rainbow style biscuits that I found on pinterest They are so beautiful, exquisite actually, so pretty, & every child's delight!! I read the instructions & I assumed...RIGHT....I can master these babies. I wanted to make them for an adorable little girl I know, for her birthday....little Miss Allie. I followed the instructions word for word....so here it goes....
I couldn't find the neon food colouring as suggested, so I had to use what I already owned. No big deal as the birthday party was themed Minnie Mouse, so I had to have red...right? Here are my colours. All the batter divided evenly & coloured accordingly.
As instructed, I rolled the batter into balls. Those balls had to them be rolled into rainbow sausages. Done!
Each rainbow sausage was then rolled in sprinkles, as instructed again. They were then cut into inch thick little stumps. I was so excited at this point, thinking YEAH!!!!!!! I have mastered these. My colours were bright. Each batch of brightly coloured batter look marled, & was blending into the next almost perfectly. I was truly loving it. Into the oven they went.

Oh no what happened...bom bom.....Mine went flat, literally flat....the sprinkles melted into the biscuit, & my colours look like they blended into one another. I was so disappointed.
It had got me wondering if these biscuits are real? they probably are no doubt, & just feeling bummed out as mine didn't turn out like this. To be honest these rainbow delights look like they can straight out of the sundae machine at McDonald's! Even the sprinkles are perfectly placed MMMMM??
Oh well, I have had a go, & as disappointing as it was, they were still a hit on the day & I did receive compliments on how they looked. Obviously these lovely people have never seen the originals haha!! They tasted great also, which is clearly very important.
I would love to hear from anyone who has made these, & how did you go? I am going to have a go at them again, as my kids birthday's are next month. Let see if I can perfect them then?

Oh well, I'm glad they tasted good at least! The biscuits you pinned look more like they were made from sausages of colour that had been coiled into the cookie shape to me...
They caught my eye on Pinterest too....it looks like each actual cookie is just a sausage of the dough, twirled into the cookie shape and baked like that.
And it looks like the sprinkles were added on maybe immediately them coming out of the oven, rolling the cookie on it;s side on a plate of sprinkles so they stick....???
You are a brilliant mum for giving them a go, anything for our kids hey!
